HVAC Services in Santa Fe, NM and Surrounding Areas

Cypress B Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling has served Santa Fe homeowners as a licensed contractor since 2006. Many neighbors first know us for plumbing, but we are a full-service HVAC contractor in Santa Fe, NM, handling both sides of home comfort at 7,000 feet, where hot, dry summers and cold high-desert winters ask a lot of your equipment. Whether you need cooling that keeps up in July or dependable heat in January, our heating and cooling team in Santa Fe works on the systems local homes actually rely on.

Cooling for Santa Fe’s Hot, Dry Summers

Santa Fe’s intense sun and low humidity give homeowners real choices for staying cool, and we help you weigh which approach fits your home, budget, and water use. We install, repair, and maintain central air conditioning, refrigerated-air systems, and evaporative “swamp” coolers. Refrigerated air delivers steady comfort on the hottest, smokiest afternoons, while a well-tuned swamp cooler can be an efficient, water-conscious match for our dry climate. When a system stops keeping up mid-season, fast, accurate diagnostics get you comfortable again.

  • Central AC and refrigerated-air installation and replacement
  • AC repair and diagnostics when a system stops cooling
  • Seasonal maintenance and tune-ups before summer heat arrives
  • Evaporative (swamp) cooler service, repair, and seasonal changeovers

Explore our dedicated air conditioning page, or call to talk through refrigerated air versus evaporative cooling for your specific home.

Heating Built for High-Desert Winters

Cold Santa Fe nights make dependable heat non-negotiable, and homes here use a wide range of systems. We service forced-air furnaces, boilers, and the radiant and hydronic heating common in adobe and older Santa Fe houses. If your system is aging or struggling to hold temperature, we can repair it or walk you through a properly sized replacement so you are not left guessing before the first hard freeze.

Many of these systems overlap with your plumbing. Radiant and hydronic heat circulate hot water through your home, and tankless units deliver on-demand hot water while freeing up space. Having one contractor who understands both the heating equipment and the water connections it depends on keeps installations and repairs coordinated, so you are not caught between separate trades pointing fingers.

Maintenance That Prevents Costly Breakdowns

Santa Fe’s dusty air, dry heat, and freezing nights are hard on HVAC equipment, and small issues rarely fix themselves. Seasonal maintenance, such as a spring cooling tune-up and a fall heating check, helps your system run efficiently, catches worn parts early, and extends the life of the equipment you already own. When something fails unexpectedly, we handle repairs too, working to diagnose the real cause instead of swapping parts and hoping the problem goes away.

One Local Contractor for Heating and Cooling

Because we handle plumbing, heating, and cooling under one roof, you do not have to juggle separate companies when a project touches more than one system, which is common with radiant heat, boilers, and tankless units that tie directly into your water lines. Our licensed technicians understand Santa Fe’s hard water, how equipment behaves at high altitude, and the mix of historic adobe and newer construction across the area, so recommendations fit your actual home rather than a generic template.

HVAC Installation and Service Across the Santa Fe Area

From a single repair to complete HVAC installation in Santa Fe, NM, our goal is to explain your options plainly, recommend only what your home needs, and stand behind the work. We serve Santa Fe and surrounding communities, and we are glad to help you plan ahead for the next season instead of waiting for a breakdown on the coldest or hottest day of the year. When a repair no longer makes sense, we lay out repair-versus-replacement costs so you can decide on your own timeline, not under pressure.

Ready to get started? Call Cypress B Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling at (505) 920-8369 to schedule heating or cooling service, or to ask which system makes the most sense for your Santa Fe home.

Do you offer full HVAC service in Santa Fe, or only plumbing?

Yes. While many people know us for plumbing, Cypress B is a full-service HVAC contractor in Santa Fe, NM. We install, repair, and maintain both cooling systems, including central AC, refrigerated air, and swamp coolers, and heating systems such as furnaces, boilers, and radiant heat, all under one licensed local team.

It depends on your priorities. Santa Fe’s dry, high-desert climate makes evaporative swamp coolers efficient and water-conscious for many homes, while refrigerated air delivers steadier comfort on the hottest, smokiest days. Our heating and cooling team in Santa Fe can evaluate your home, ductwork, and water use before you decide.

Absolutely. Radiant and hydronic heating are common in Santa Fe’s adobe and older homes, and boilers often tie directly into your plumbing. As a licensed HVAC contractor in Santa Fe, NM, we repair and replace boilers, service radiant floor systems, and coordinate the plumbing connections these heating systems depend on.

Good HVAC installation in Santa Fe, NM starts with proper sizing for our 7,000-foot elevation, your home’s construction, and the hard water that affects some equipment. We assess your current setup, explain furnace, refrigerated-air, or swamp-cooler options, and give clear pricing before any work, with no guesswork or unnecessary upgrades.

I have received services from Cypress 4 times since 2021. The first three times I received services directly from Chris himself and was quite satisfied. The price went up a little bit on the third time, but that is to be expected with time and cost of materials going up. The 4th time Chris sent someone else out for the same services Chris did in the past and the bill was much higher! I was unsatisfied with what happened as you can imagine and made a complaint about it. Chris the owner of the company called me directly to ask what happened. He even went ahead and refunded me back the portion of the bill that I felt was unfair and offered to do a free inspection of my heating and cooling system. This to me speaks of good customer service, and someone who is willing to correct a mistake. If I was rating on the first three services alone I would give a 5 star rating as working with Chris’s himself has always been good. Due to the mistake and the back and fourth I am leaving a 4 star rating today. Chris is very knowledgeable with heating cooling systems and surely can get the job done.

Chris was recommended to me through a mutual client so I felt confident I would have a positive experience. Chris' workers were top notch, professional and nice. Unfortunately Chris is rude has terrible customer service and doesn't respond. Has a huge chip on his shoulder. For how expensive he is $200/hr you would expect kind service. I do not recommend!!
Wow, the response written to my original post is very different from the threat I received from Chris via my personal phone number when he wasn't happy that I didn't give him a positive review!! The fact is Chris continually did not respond to my messages and was unprofessional. Spencer on the other hand was top notch. Chris claims he trained him but I know that Spencer had his own successful business in CA. Chris could learn a thing or two from him on how to communicate more professionally with his clients.

Chris did a terrific job installing a tankless water heater and boiler for my parents. The job was done on schedule, and with quality workmanship. Chris was patient with all of our questions and concerns. The price was reasonable compared to other plumbers in town, with no nickel-and-diming for things we didn’t need. Would recommend!

Outstanding work, professional, always on-time and fair pricing. Highly Recommended! Our boiler broke apart on New Year's Day and Chris was at our house first thing the next morning. Within just a couple of days he had our heat restored with a new high efficiency system. No one ever likes to spend money on this type of expense, but I feel like the system will be long lasting and ultimately save money on fuel costs. Thanks for doing great work Chris - you are our go-to plumber!
